2011- To Japan With Love – Japan Earthquake and Tsunami
The devastating tsunami caused by the mega earthquake scaling 9.0 Mw took away more than 15,000 lives in Japan alone, injuring more than 6,000 people and leaving 2,584 missing. The world held hands and brought hope to all victims affected.
Kilau Suria joined the world in extending a helping hand through the success of the ‘To Japan With Love’ charity program in conjunction of the Sundown UltraMarathon 100km in Singapore. A total of RM21,000 was raised thanks to corporate sponsorship, personal pledges,and charity booths around KL, and handed over to the Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Fund of Malaysia Red Crescent Society. The handing over of the mock cheque to Minister and Deputy Chief of Mission from the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, Koichi Ito tookon the 17 July 2011.
